So much for "hands-free" operation.Another issue that's irritating is the music button. Several times the battery has died while I've been on the road, so there's no way for me to charge it with my mini usb cell phone charger. Often, when I want to connect to my phone from the headset, the headset won't connect, at which point I have to switch off the BT on the phone, turn the headset off, and then turn both on again. My car is a complete POS and when I'm at highway speeds, I can hardly hear the person on the other end. There are a few positives that I should point out.
However, in the end, the pros are greatly outweighed by the cons. The greatest annoyance is the piss-poor volume in loud situations. Second, and more significant, after a few months the removable earhook would no longer hold snugly and on many occasions the headset fell off the earhook while talking, driving, etc. However, I soon came to loathe it and the simple fact that I shelled out $100 for it is the only thing that kept me hanging on to it. This really needs to be on the additional stereo earpiece, as if you accidentally hit this button without realizing it, there's no audio confirmation that you've entered into music mode, and the headset won't activate voice commands on the phone when in music mode.
Sometimes the headset still fails to connect and I must turn the phone off and on, which sucks as it's a smart phone and takes nearly 30 seconds to start up. If my next headset doesn't come with one, I guess I'll just have to spring for the adapter. Often I find myself removing the headset from the earhook and pressing the headset directly into my ear as far as possible just so I can hear. As I use this only as a mono headset. If anyone over at Jabra is reading this, next time make the earhook either a permanent attachment or fixed in place with a set screw.
I bought this headset 2 years ago, and at first I loved it. On a few occasions, I have had to delete pairing all together and re-pair, just to get it connected. The last few annoyances are more insignificant, but I will list them none the less. First, why have a micro USB port if you aren't going to include a micro to mini USB adapter. This is an accessory that really should be included. The only indication that the music button has been pressed accidentally is when my headset won't queue the phone for voice commands, at which point I have to physically take the headset off and check to see whether the headset is in music mode.Another annoyance has been the failure to connect. Also, the flexible ear hook seems to be flimsy, as it broke today after two years of use. The volume control is easy to adjust, the batter life is awesome, and the LED display is always nice.
I might try to get a replacement earhook, but as I'm not happy with the headset, I think I'll go with buying a new headset. this has really been a turn-off for me. I've used my phone with other headsets, so I know the problem is not my phone. On a few of these occasions I didn't even realize this had happened and nearly lost the headset. I'm intrigued by the Plantronics Voyager Pro, which may just be my next purchase in the cell phone accessory department.
The Jabra BT8010 synched up immediately with my Verizon HTC XV6800 PPC phone and both mono and stereo modes worked well. Music and voice quality is very good compaired to my last headset(Jabra BY250). People I call do not complain of poor sound quality on their end either :)However, the unit does not stay in position when I tilt my head and there is no way to make it stay secure.always feels like the earbud is going to fall off when I am moving around. If you use them under a ski hat or something to secure the devices to your ear, it works fine.
I can listen to my music, it's easy to answer my phone when someone calls while I am listening to music. This is the second one I had bought. I also use it to listen to my tv on my cell phone while I am driving home. I had lost the first one riding on a roller coaster, forgot to take it off, and hoped they had found it and sent it to me, but it didn't happen that way, so I bought another one. I really enjoy this product. My favorite soap is on, so I don't miss hearing what's going on during my ride home from work. I thank Jabra for making a very good easy to use product.
I bought this for my girlfriend along with the iPod bluetooth adapter. It was too big for her ear, but it works good for me. the stereo earpiece is smaller than the main piece and the difference in weight feels a little funky. Sounds really good though.
It refuses to work with my computer, after connecting. A okay headset for the price, but ive had cheaper ones that were better. The headset nor the additional piece does not fit well in my ear even after adjusting it with the instructions on[.]. and constantly feels liek it will fall off. Vista asks for a driver and as usual it doesnt have one which makes it impossible for me to upgrade the software. Syncs well with my phone but sound quality isn't very good and would possibly be hard to understand for some users.
